Mishka
(2005-2019)
Mishka an elegant Russian Blue feline passed away in early March 2019 having to be put to sleep due to the increasing severity of her failing kidneys in her elderly years. Her owner an Australian-Lithuanian female friend was naturally very saddened . In respect to Mishka and to her memory I produced this portrait which I admit in regards to its technical proficiency is a mere shadow of the photograph that I used to produce it. I simply aimed to capture her authoritative look (especially when it was directed towards me)*. However, it is done with good intention and also found it somewhat cathartic as I had the good fortune to know Mishka well and truly appreciated her 'aristocratic intelligence.' Whenever I was with Mishka it was clear to me who was the superior sophisticated being and it certainly was not me. A personal work which I was of two minds to post but in the end I have. All the best.

Mishka was suvived by her younger 'sister' Anya who also since sadly passed away and like Mishka had Russian Blue blood running through her but not fully. Anya was vastly different to Mishka in temperament. Anya was certainly a character and I believe missed her mysteriously absent 'motherly' Mishka and one likes to think that their spirits are now reunited...Here in this video is Mishka and Anya together while still in this world...

* The photograph of the etching does not do it justice to what it looks like in reality but this was the best I could do. Thank you for your understanding.
